An Evening of Elegance: Celebrating Italian Heritage and the Launch of La Dolce Vita Orient Express

Mortimer House, a private Members' Club in the heart of London, recently hosted a magical evening where music, nostalgia, and luxury travel converged. The event marked the official launch of the highly anticipated 'La Dolce Vita' Orient Express, a stunning new luxury train set to debut in the Spring of 2025. Guests were treated to a memorable experience filled with elegance, romance, and Italian charm, perfectly accentuated by the performance of the Harbour Strings Trio represented by Marina Simioni Music.

The Harbour Strings Trio captivated the audience with a repertoire that transported listeners back to the golden age of Italian cinema and music. Their setlist included iconic film scores by legendary composers such as Armando Trovajoli, Piero Piccioni, and Ennio Morricone, whose melodies evoke the romance and beauty of mid-century Italy.

General Manager of The Orient Express Hotels in Rome and Venice, Giampaolo Ottazzi delivered an inspiring speech about the La Dolce Vita, sharing exciting details about the train’s luxurious itineraries, which will traverse 14 regions and 131 cities across Italy, offering guests an unparalleled journey through the country’s most breathtaking landscapes. A particularly unique feature of this train is its ability to dismantle and be ferried across the Strait of Messina to Sicily, where it will be reassembled to continue its voyage - a first in the history of luxury rail travel.

The event at Mortimer House was more than just a launch; it was a celebration of Italian culture, history, and the timeless allure of travel. Guests were visibly moved by the music, with many commenting on how the Harbour Strings Trio perfectly complemented the spirit of the evening.

Guests left Mortimer House with anticipation for what lies ahead and cherished memories of a night steeped in beauty, music, and Italian sophistication.
