There are certain nights that stay with you forever -nights where music, community, and an important cause come together in perfect harmony. One such night unfolded recently at the iconic Natural History Museum, where 'Switch It Up' had the immense honour of performing at a charity fundraising event for the Cris Cancer Foundation. This international charity is dedicated to funding cutting-edge cancer research and improving access to life-saving treatments. The evening was nothing short of spectacular, with over £2.4 million raised to further their mission.
A Night of Hope, Stories, and Generosity
The evening began with a warm welcome as elegantly dressed guests took their seats in the Museum’s grand Hintze Hall beneath a suspended blue whale skeleton named "Hope". It’s a breathtaking centrepiece in the museum’s Hintze Hall, surrounded by the stunning architecture and historic exhibits.
During dinner, the first speech was delivered by the company's CEO and warrior, Lola Manterola, who shared her inspiring journey and dedication to the cause. Several cancer survivors shared their deeply moving and inspiring stories, offering a glimpse into the real-life impact of the foundation’s work. The speeches were heartfelt, reminding everyone present of the significance of their contributions. Doctors from around the world attended the evening and delivered speeches highlighting how the funds raised from this event, together with contributions from previous years, are driving advancements in groundbreaking technologies and pioneering cancer research.
Between courses, guests also had the chance to participate in a silent auction, bidding on exclusive items and experiences.
The Sweetest Finale: A High-Energy Performance!
The moment the lights dimmed and the first beats dropped, 'Switch It Up' took the stage and woke up the dinosaurs!! With a dynamic setlist featuring club classics, rock anthems, and spirited Spanish tunes, the band created an electric atmosphere that had everyone on their feet. In a special nod to the foundation’s Spanish roots and the heritage of its inspirational CEO, Lola Manterola, the band paid tribute with a medley of Spanish favourites that lit up the dance floor.
Guests danced late into the night, their spirits lifted by the music, the stories, and the shared sense of purpose.
A Tremendous Success & Exciting News
By the end of the night, the event had raised a staggering £2.4 million—a testament to the generosity of the guests and the dedication of the Cris Cancer Foundation team. These funds will be instrumental in driving forward essential research and innovation in cancer treatment, ensuring that more patients can benefit from life-saving care. We are honoured to have contributed to this significant event for the third consecutive year.
It’s nights like these that remind us of the power of coming together for a greater purpose. To the Cris Cancer Foundation, the guests, and everyone involved—thank you for allowing us to be part of this journey.
